Adults and children alike can learn more about native wildlife and vegetation, and Southern California history from nature walks, trail rides and educational programs. These types of learning environments allow visitors to take away information that is of importance to them, while creating their own unique experience. Events such as the Trout Fishing Derbies and the Bogart Horseshoe Throwing Contests give visitors the chance to participate in activities they don’t typically engage in.
The Pumpkin Patch Festival, the Rancho Jurupa Fall Festival and similar festivals present a place for family fun, outdoor entertainment and captivating activities. Past attendees of Riverside County Parks’ events have expressed their satisfaction feverishly. “They always do a wonderful job. This is our second year attending and it has been loads of fun,” commented Delia, a resident of Riverside. Interpretative centers annually plan and execute numerous events to foster appreciation and educate visitors of indigenous plants, such as the Lemon Lily Festival and the Pecan Festival.
Riverside County Parks remains dedicated and committed to outreach programs and events, as well as playing an active role in the community. Encouraging and promoting local events creates an opportunity to strengthen, deepen and expand relationships with the public. In addition, the District is sharing and creating awareness of natural resources it diligently projects. Riverside County Parks exists to serve the community and advance their mission.
