Riverside County Historic Landmarks

Thank you for your interest in the County of Riverside’s Historical Landmarks program. Riverside County history is reflected in its buildings, sites, places, and landscapes.* The purpose of the landmarks program is to recognize our places as part of history, as part of our communities, as part of our lives. Our hope is to foster historic preservation as a means of sharing the past and keeping our built environment alive and meaningful in a rapidly-changing world. We encourage property owners and all citizens to participate in the County’s history and our joint stewardship of what we have built.

The Riverside County Historical Commission will consider all applications for County Landmarks. Favorable recommendations on applications are sent to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors for their approval or disapproval.

Please go over these carefully. The materials are designed to give you guidance on the criteria for landmark selection, how to apply, and the level of supportive materials you must submit with your application.
