School Field Trips
Come and join us for a fun-filled learning experience as we take your students on a hands-on adventure with presentations, live animals, hikes, games, and/or crafts to meet your state science or social science standards. We can also bring our programs to your school with presentations, activities, and/or live animals. Call early to reserve your date and time, as our schedule fills quickly.
Outreach
Hidden Valley offers unique educational outreach programs to public and private schools. we offer a wide variety of programs to meet the needs and interest levels for grades k-6. For further Educational outreach program information, please view the HDV Educational Outreach Brochure (PDF Link).
Scout Programs
Hidden Valley offers a variety of programs for boy scouts, cub scouts, and girl scouts. For boy scouts, four merit badges are offered with certified merit badge counselors. Cub Scout programs include activities that meet Achievement and Elective requirements for Tigers, Wolves, and Bears, and four Activity Badges for Webelos. Girl Scout programs meet the requirements for a variety of Brownie Try-its, Jr. Girl Scout Badges, and Sr. Girl Scout Interest Patches. Both girl and boy scouts are welcome to plan and complete a conservation project here at Hidden Valley. A variety of projects are available for those boys who wish to complete their Eagle Scout Project. For more information, click on one of the links below or call (951) 785-7452.
Outdoor Explorations for Homeschoolers
During the 2011-2012 school year, the Hidden Valley Nature center will offer a series of nature and environmental education programs developed especially for homeschoolers. Program sessions are offered twice a month on Wednesdays. There will be a morning session and an afternoon session to choose from. Morning sessions begin PROMPTLY at 10:00am. Afternoon sessions begin PROMPTLY at 1:30pm. A portion of most programs will be held outdoors, so please dress appropriately.
We are also offering a special Homeschool Environmental Science program this year. This program is open to anyone in 6th to 12th grade. The program will be held on selected Wednesdays, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, and will follow some of the same dates as the Homeschool programs. This program also fulfills the requirements for the Boy Scout Environmental Science Merit Badge and is taught by certified counselors.
You must pre-register—no walk-ins please. Please bring or mail in a copy of the registration form prior to your program. Pre-payment is required to reserve your spot. Click link below for a printable registration form.

Mondays with Mommy (and Daddy) and Me
The Hidden Valley Nature Center “Mommy & Me” program is back! The Fall/Winter 2011 sessions begins on September 28th. This program provides a fun introduction to animals, plants and other nature topics. Through the use of music, movement, stories, crafts, hands-on activities and live animal presentations, nature will come alive.
This program is recommended for children between the ages of three and six years. Children 18months and above who participate will be charged.
Please note there will only be a morning session offered this season. Register early as there are a limited number of spots available. You must be pre-registered. No walk-ins please. Bring or mail in a copy of the registration form prior to your program. Pre-payment is required to reserve your spot.
