Idyllwild Historic Preservation District
Warren is a founding member of the Idyllwild Historical Preservation District (IHPD) Local Review Board (LRB) and is the current Chairman. He has been active in many Idyllwild organizations including the Associates of Idyllwild Arts Academy, Idyllwild Nature Center, Idyllwild Garden Club, Friends of the Idyllwild Library, and USFS Black Mountain Lookout Tower Lookout Host.
Warren is a retired Aerospace Engineering Manager and worked for Douglas Aircraft Co. and Hughes Aircraft for 40 years. He has served as an elected member and VP of the Board of Directors of the Idyllwild Water District for 12 years. Also, Warren has volunteered for many organizations including:
– Orange Empire Railway Museum, Perris, CA, 20 years, as a locomotive engineer, trolley motorman, dispatcher and instructor;
– Redland Community Hospital, 20 years (many positions including President of the Auxiliary);
– California Highway Patrol, Senior Volunteer Program, in support of the CHP Idyllwild Resident Office, 4 years
– City of Villa Park Community Access TV, 12 years, built, operated and directed CATV studio, live and recorded programming.
Warren has a BSEE degree from Purdue University, Business Management Program from UCLA, completed coursework for MS in Management Science at CSULB. He and his wife, Marcia, have lived in Idyllwild full-time for 20 years and part-time for 8 years before that. He is a member and Elder of the Idyllwild Community Presbyterian Church.
Terry received a BA in Political Science from San Diego State University. Until retiring in 2017, he worked in marketing and promotions with the consumer packaged goods industry as a VP of Sales. While a resident of San Diego, Terry was very active with local community organizations, serving as a board member and Treasurer for the College Area Community Council, and Chairman of the Mesa Colony Community Group. He worked with government officials, the business community, and SDSU, to help advance the interests and needs of area residents. Terry and his wife Annie moved to beautiful Idyllwild full-time after retirement in 2017 and are committed to serving their new hometown.
Nancy first came to Idyllwild in the early 1960s as a rock climber when she went up the face of Tahquitz Rock twice. She has lived in Idyllwild full time since 2001, remodeling a home in Pine Cove. Nancy studied Architecture, Industrial Arts and Art at San Diego State, UCSD and the Prosopon School of Iconology.
She volunteers at the Idyllwild Area Historical Society, Pine Cove Property Owners Association, and the Commodity Distribution and Senior Food Share. She is a member of the Art Alliance of Idyllwild, St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church and the CERT team.
As a native Californian, Nancy grew up in San Diego County. She taught school in Imperial and San Diego Counties. She loves Idyllwild. Every time she drives around Dead Man’s Curve to downtown Idyllwild, she thanks God for the chance to live here.
