About McCall

McCall Memorial Park, located 4 miles south of Idyllwild, CA, and one-quarter mile west of Mountain Center off Highway 74,  is a unique 88-acre mountain park designated specifically for camping and trail riding.

Situated at an elevation of 4,400 feet and surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest, McCall Park provides access to several excellent trails that meander through tall pine trees, open meadows, and past seasonal streams, affording breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains, gentle flatlands and rolling hills as well as the rock-strewn peaks that tower above Idyllwild. This park provides opportunities for small parties or large groups to meet for day rides or overnight events, with excellent accommodations for horses and riders including 53 sturdy pipe corrals, barbecue and picnic facilities, and plenty of space for camping.

  •  As of 2/1/24 fire restrictions are lifted, wood and charcoal fires are permitted. (Hurkey Creek Park/Idyllwild Regional Park/McCall Memorial Equestrian Campground).
  • Propane fire pits are allowed with proper clearance of 10 ft from trees, brush and other ignitable material.

    Park Fees

    Camping: $30-35 per night (Includes 6 people, 2 vehicles). $6 per additional vehicle.
    Group Shelter: $280 per night  (Minimum of 40 guests, paid in advance, includes electrical)
    Day use: $6 per adult and $3 per child (12 and younger).
    Pet/Horse: $2 per pet/horse, per day.
    Corral: $2 per corral rental.

    Snow Play: $20 per vehicle (vs normal day use fees of $6 per adult and $3 per child)

    Park Rules

    • Bicycle riders must wear helmet
    • Build fires only in provided BBQ & Fire Ring
    • No ground fires allowed
    • No more than 6 occupants and 2 vehicles per site
    • Maximum stay of 14 days within a 28-day period
    • No fireworks
    • No discharge of firearms
    • Do not remove, deface, or disturb any part of the park features or wildlife
    • Do not gather firewood in the park
    • Do not attach anything to trees
    • Pets must be kept on controlled leashes (Maximum leash length – 6 ft)
    • Do not leave pet(s) unattended
    • Clean up promptly after pet(s)
